Hours after the rejection from the censor board, seems like the maverick director Ram Gopal Varma was hit with another jolt. ‘Kamma Rajyamlo Kadapa Reddlu’, the most controversial film in the recent times was set for its release one-half weeks ago itself but was postponed due to a roll of petitions filed in the High Court. The censor members who watched the film upon the High Court orders were left in utter shock over the direct references in the movie which were quoted to raise communal spats.
Besides a number of cuts, the members found fault with the flick’s subject which forced them to declined to issue a censor certificate. This made RGV and the makers to give some serious thoughts of releasing the film on digital platforms. However, as many as all the digital majors refused to give any bulk amount for the film. Grapevine has it that a few of them who agreed to buy the film asked that they would pay after certain views. This came as another jolt to RGV who is now in splits about the release of his next film.
