As the central government is gearing up for the Unlock 5.0, the recent stats came as a relief for the health experts across the nation. According to the statistics, for the first time ever since the pandemic broke out in India, the country recorded the seven-day average of daily Covid-19 cases in India has been steadily falling for nine consecutive days from September 17.
Meanwhile, the country a spike of 70,589 new cases taking the total caseload past 61 lakh-mark. According to the latest reports from the union health ministry, case tally stands at 61,45,292 including 9,47,576 active cases, 51,01,398 cured/discharged/migrated.
While Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, infections are rising rapidly in states like Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal. On the other hand, total fatalities reached 96,318 with 776 deaths in the last 24 hours. Yet, India’s recovery rate continues to rise and now stands at 83 per cent.

After more than two months, the Andhra Pradesh reported less than 6,000 daily new Covid-19 cases. A total of 5,487 fresh cases were reported in the State in the last 24 hours. The total caseload increased to 6,81,161 with the 5,487 new cases reported on Monday. As many as 7,210 patients got discharged from Covid-19 hospitals in the State, taking the total number of recoveries to 6,12,300. With 37 more fatalities, the COVID toll increased to 5,745. At present, the number of active cases in the State is 63,116.
In Telangana, the total number of coronavirus cases to 1,89,283. The death toll reached 1,116 with nine people dying of the deadly virus in the last 24 hours. Meanwhile, the recovery count went up to 1,58,690 with around 2,259 persons recovering from the virus on Monday.
