The ghastly rape and murder of the Hyderabad vet Disha still give chill whenever we think of it. The four accused taken into custody 2 days, disclosed the flow of incidents that took place on November 27th which was later revealed by the police in a press meet. The preliminary investigation revealed that the accused had forced Disha to consume alcohol. Confirming this disclosure, the postmortem forensic toxicology report of Disha from Telangana state Forensic Science Laboratory(TSFSL) confirmed that Disha was forced to consume alcohol. The report received on Friday confirmed that the liver tissue of Disha had traces of alcohol. The police received the FSL reports confirming the seminal stains found on the scarf and undergarment of the victim recovered by the police from the crime scene belonged to the accused. The forensic team also confirmed the DNA samples collected from the dead body matched with the family members of Disha.
Disha was gang-raped and murdered by Mohammed Areef, Jollu Shiva, Jollu Naveen and Ch Chennakesavulu on November 27 night at the toll plaza near Shamshabad and set her body ablaze at an underpass at Chatanpally near Shadnagar. The accused were shot dead in an alleged encounter which was challenged by NHRC and a few women welfare associations. The case is now at the Supreme Court while the bodies of the four accused are ordered to be preserved until the next hearing.
