The sensational abduction and rape case of the Ghatkesar B-Pharmacy student which shook the Telugu states took a shocking and dramatic twist. While the police had arrested four people, including an auto driver in the case, the student during the police investigation revealed the truth which came as a shock to the police department, media and the girl’s family members.
The 19-year-old student, who alleged she was kidnapped and gang-raped, reportedly cooked up the whole story to mislead the police. Speaking to the media, Commissioner Bhagavath said that the police who are trying to trace the technical evidence including the CCTV footage to trace the girl’s whereabouts found that the girl went to meet her friends on a two-wheeler.
Frightened by the mother who is continuously calling the girl to know where is she was, the girl cooked up a story that an auto driver took her to an undisclosed location and raped her. The frightened mother rushed to the police and lodged a complaint.
However, after questioning with proofs, she admitted that she went to Yamnampet area with friends. Due to some previous grudges over the auto driver, she had accused him of involvement in the crime she alleged to have happened.
The Commissioner thanked and appreciated private hospitals and auto unions for their cooperation with the police and help in solving the case and establishing the truth. He also apologised to the auto drivers who were arrested as suspects.
