As the detection of new cases has remained below 60,000 for the last seven days, India on Sunday reported 50,129 cases of the novel coronavirus taking the total caseload to 78,64,811. according to the latest update by from the Union Health Ministry, as many as 70,78,123 COVID-19 patients have been cured and discharged so far while the recovery rate hike to 89.9 per cent.
In a drastic dip in fatalities in the country, 578 deaths in the last 24 hours have pushed the total death count to 1,18,534. 6,68,154 patients are undergoing treatment while the active cases have declined for the 22nd consecutive day and is now the lowest since August 13.

Coronavirus tally in Andhra Pradesh reached to 8.04 lakh on Saturday with 3,342 new infections. 7.6 lakh patients have recovered, while 6,566 others succumbed to the disease, so far. The State has tested over 75 lakh samples, including 74,919 in the 24 hours.
On the other hand, Telangana recorded 978 COVID-19 cases on Sunday taking the total to 2,31,252. The total death toll reached to 1,307 with four more persons who contracted COVID-19 have died. 1,446patients recovered from the infection while 19,465 are still undergoing treatment.
