Two people were killed after a drunk driver in a speeding Porsche knocked down them at Banjara Hills Road no 2 in the early hours of Monday. As per the police records, the two victims Tribhuvan Rai and Debendra Kumar Das, both working for a corporate hospital as an office boy and assistant cook respectively died on the spot.
The victims were returning home after completing work. As they were crossing the road, the Porsche, which was coming from Nagarjuna Circle and heading towards KBR park, hit them at high speed. The victims hit flung into the air, landed on-road and breathed their last. The bodies were sent to Osmania General Hospital for autopsy and a probe was initiated.
The youth, who was driving the vehicle, parked it in an apartment in Jubilee Hills. He later surrendered before the police and was identified as Rohit Goud, a realtor. He was accompanied by his friend Suman, seated next to him. The police sent the duo for an alcohol test to ascertain if they were in an inebriated condition at the time of the accident.
