The upcoming by-elections in Dubbaka are no longer simple voting to fill the vacant post but have turned into an opportunity for the political parties to prove their mettle. BJP, which has been trying all the odd to gain strength in Telangana reportedly narrowed down on the upcoming by-polls with Congress gradually losing it charisma in the state.
The ruling TRS party has reportedly resorted to a strategy for the bypolls which it has tried in the past too. The party has assigned campaigning to seven Ministers, MLAs and senior leaders by appointing them as in-charges. Congress as well started the election campaign for its candidate Cheruku Srinivas Reddy with the support of its star campaigner MP Revanth Reddy.
However, BJP is yet to make the mega campaigning debut in the constituency. Unlike the other parties which took the support of star campaigners, BJP’s candidate Raghunandan Rao was seen touring the constituency all by himself. Though BJP president Bandi Sanjay and Assembly By-Election In-charge Jitender Reddy were present on the day of the nomination, they were not spotted in the active campaigning so far.
Amidst which, rumours that JanaSena Chief Pawan Kalyan would soon tour Dubbaka in support for it ally BJP are making serious rounds in the political circles. Sources also confirmed that the Dubbaka BJP cadre is making arrangements for a mega roadshow for Pawan and Raghunandan Rao. If this is believed to be true, the actor-turned-politician’s charm will definitely add up to the BJP election campaigning.
