In an expected move, ruling TRS cleared the candidature of has decided to field late Ramalinga Reddy’s wife Sujatha Reddy for the upcoming by-elections in Dubbaka constituency. While the name was reportedly finalised by the party chief and Chief Minister KCR on Monday, an official announcement was made on Tuesday.
According to the sources, there has been a touch fight between Ramalinga Reddy and Muthyam Reddy family for the ticket while the later lobbied for his son Srinivas Reddy. However, it was learnt that Ramalinga Reddy and his family’s active role in separate Telangana movement and their rapport constituencies voters are the main criteria taken into consideration for fielding Sujatha.
It is to the known knowledge that Election Commission(EC) has recently announced the election schedule for the most awaited Dubbaka Assembly by-election which became inevitable after the death of TRS incumbent MLA Solipeta Ramalinga Reddy in August.
According to the statement released by the Election Commission, the notification for the Dubbaka by-election will be released on October 9th while nominations will be accepted until October 16th. As the scrutiny is scheduled to take place on October 17th, the deadline for withdrawing nominations until October 19. Polling will be on November 3 and the counting will take place on November 10.
