In what can be called an unfathomable shock for ruling TRS and a morale booster for BJP, Dubbaka polls gave a major twist in Telangana politics. While the whole of the TRS cadre was left in disappointment and still healing from the shock, the party chief KCR called for an emergency meeting with key party leaders and ministers on Thursday.
It was learnt that the state chief minister wants to get the on-ground report over the criteria that went against the most-anticipated victory from the district which has the TRS domination from the past few years. Ahead of GHMC polls, the review meeting called by the party chief took significance.
Party sources have it that the meeting more like a damage control process while the leaders would deliberate on the upcoming election taking the feedback from the Dubbaka polls. It was anticipated that a clear idea over the election schedule will roll out after the meeting.
On ground political observers said that the BJP victory was propelled by the youth who prevailed upon their parents, grandparents to vote for a change to elect “an educated and questioning voice. Meanwhile, it is learned that the cabinet meeting is likely to be held in two to three days.
