The earthquake measured 5.0 on the Richter scale has shaken several parts of north India, including the Delhi-NCR region in the evening hours of Tuesday. According to the reports from the United States Geological Survey, tremors were reported from Delhi-NCR, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh with no reports of any loss of life or property. Epicentre near the India-Nepal border, the tremors were recorded 25km ENE of Dipayal, Nepal where people rushed out of their homes and offices in panic. While the Indian media and National Centre for Seismology(NCS) failed to intimate and prompt the citizen, the United States Geological Survey played a crucial role in recording the quake details.
