With the Central Election Commission (CEC) on Sunday giving a nod to the Telangana government on announcing PRC to the government employees in the state, all eyes are now on CMO which is all set to make a crucial announcement.
While the announcement assumed significance in the wake of employees protesting against the PRC committee’s recommendations to give a 7.5 per cent salary hike over basic pay, various speculations about the announcement to be made today heated up the political circles on Monday.
Sources close to Pragati Bhavan revealed that the government is looking forward to giving around 30 per cent PRC to please the employees ahead of the assembly elections. CM KCR, on this note, is learnt to make crucial announcements regarding increasing the age of retirement, creating employment opportunities.
To recall, the state finance commission has written to the Central Election Commission seeking permission for the announcement of PRC in the state in view of the ensuing Nagarjuna Sagar bypoll.
In response, the Central Election Commission (CEC) secretary Avinash Kumar in a letter to Chief Electoral Officer Shashank Goel said that there are no concerns on announcing PRC to the government employees.
