It has been stated that systematic flow is essential and correct and sufficient information should be provided to the voters at every stage of the election. The letter written by the Election Commission to all political parties in this regard has become very important in the wake of debates on the issue of ‘freebies’. The ‘free’ culture controversy eventually reached the Supreme Court. . The Supreme Court has recently opined that free guarantees are creating a shortage of funds for the country’s economy.
The EC said that political parties are making false promises and this is having an undesired effect. EC sources said that they consider it in principle the right of the parties to make manifestos, but the effect of certain undesired promises should be left unsaid. EC opined that the candidates should explain where they get the funds for their promises, whose declarations are routine and ambiguous and do not provide enough information to the voters. In this letter, all the parties have been asked to respond to this by the 18th of this month.
