August 5th has been a momentous day for many Indians marking the Bhoomi Pujan ceremony of Ram Temple in Ayodhya. While the Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust appealed the Ram Bakts to refrain from attending the mega event in the view of the pandemic, everyone was asked to light a Diya at the house.
Meanwhile, a video showing the largest digital display of Lord Ram on Broadway at Times Square started circulating on social media. The devotees felt elated to see Times Square welcoming the bhoomi pujan while the display happens to be the most expensive digital billboards on Broadway.

However, hours after the videos and images went viral, the advertising agency, Branded Cities which runs the digital advertisement board in Times Square raised the flag confirming that the images are digitally photoshopped.
It also stated that though the Indian-American community in New York planned to beam the images of Ram, it was opposed by a coalition of Muslim groups.
The fake videos claimed that the display showing the portraits of Lord Ram with words ‘Jai Shri Ram’ in Hindi and English was lit up at 10 am will continue till 10 pm to celebrate the laying of the temple’s foundation.
