The second season of ‘Family Man’ received huge applause while Samantha Akkineni who made her OTT debut has already received a few awards. The show, however, has sparked a row as a section of netizens accused it of being ‘against Tamils.’
A section of netizens raised objections against ‘Family Man 2’ felt that Samantha’s militant character who is shown to belong to the Tamil community is being branded as a terrorist. The team including Samantha faced the heat on the internet while most of them demanded a ban on the web series.
However, the whole team remained mum both in press meets and on social media. Breaking the silence, Samantha in her recent interviews issues an open apology. “My apologies if the series hurt anyone’s feelings. We didn’t mean to hurt the community’s feelings. I am happy that the controversy calmed down after the release,” she stated.
On the work front, Samantha is now shooting for Gunasekhar’s ‘Shaakunthalam’.
