Twitter, the micro-blogging site remained split with the tweeple divided over the international celebrities like Rihanna and Greta condemning the on-going farmer protest. The agitation on Tuesday took a ‘global’ turn with International pop celebrity Rihanna’s tweet.
Taking to her official Twitter handle which celebrates over 100 million followers, the American pop singer asked: “Why aren’t we talking about this?!”
While Rihanna’s tweet left the internet and Bollywood divided which is now ruling the social media. India’s Ministry of External Affairs’ statement on Monday quoting that tweets by foreign individuals are “sensational and irresponsible” referring Rihanna and few other international celebrities further escalated the issue.
Joining the bandwagon of celebrities who condemned Rihanna’s tweet with hashtag #IndiaAgainstPropaganda, legendary Sachin Tendulkar tweeted urging people not to fall for false propagandas against India.
India’s sovereignty cannot be compromised. External forces can be spectators but not participants.

While other cricketers like Anil Kumble, Ravi Shastri, skipper Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane, Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma also posted tweets on the ‘IndiaAgainstPropaganda’ trend on social media. However, the twitterati lashed out on the master blaster for discursively supporting the government.
