Days after facing the flare over breaking the lockdown regulations, five of the ruling YRSCP ministers face the flare of Andhra Pradesh court on Tuesday. In the line of the notices issued to Srikalahasti YSRCP MLA Madhusudhan Reddy, Nagari MLA Roja, Sullurpet MLA Kiliveti Sanjeeviah, Palamaner MLA Venkat Reddy, Chilkaluripeta MLA Rajni, the High Court expressed its discontent over consulting public gathering at the time of lockdown.
Pulling up the state government for its failure to take action against the YSRCP MLAs, the court summoned DGP Gautam Sawang questioning what action was taken against the MLAs. The court session held through video conference, the High court instructed the Jagan-led government to file a counter detailing the action taken against the MLAs. It also asked the government if COVID-19 tests were conducted on the five MLAs.
It is to the known knowledge that advocate Kishore filed a petition against the five MLAs under the Epidemic Diseases Act. The petitioner argued that the lockdown regulations apply to every individual and none is above the law. The rallies and meetings held under the name of free groceries distribution have triggered debates in the political circles amidst the strict lockdown rules.
