With AP SEC Nimmgadda Ramesh Kumar’s tenure coming to an end the March 31st, political circles from the past few days are rife with speculations over the new SEC.
Making the political analysts’ guess game true, the honourable Governor Biswabhusan Harichandan on Friday issued orders appointed former Chief Secretary Neelam Sawhney as the new SEC.
As the Jagan-led government has referred three names including Samuel and Premchandra Reddy for the post as per the protocols, the Governor has reportedly approved Neelam’s name for the appointment.
Sources have it that the CMO was inclined towards Samuel’s appointment but the norm the bureaucrat should not have age more than 55 years came as a set back for the latter.
Undavalli camp office sources confirmed that Neelam is likely to assume the office on April 1st while the former SEC Nimmagadda would retire on March 31st. It can be noted that Neelam has been a loyalist to CM Jagan.
