Rajya Sabha MP and former Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh(64) has passed away in Singapore on Saturday. Amar Singh was learnt to leave for Singapore a few months ago for the treatment for his health ailment.
The news came as a shock to political fraternity as the senior leader was in touch with his virtual social media family till this morning. Amar Sindh had tweeted a tribute to freedom fighter and educationist Bal Gangadhar Tilak on his death anniversary and also wished Eid Al Adha to all his followers.
It can be noted that the senior leader was rushed to Fortis Hospital in New Delhi after he complained of uneasiness. He returned to political life by 2016 after he recovered from the kidney transplant.
Back in March rumours floated about Amar Singh’s death while the former Samajwadi Party leader hit back them with a video with the caption “Tiger Zinda Hai.”
Social media poured out with condolence messages for the leader from politicians, fans and followers. Singh resigned from all positions in SP on January 6, 2010, and was later expelled from the party. He is survived by wife Pankaja and twin daughters.
