Amidst the roll of TDP leaders’ arrest hinting a deliberate targeting by the ruling party, yet another arrest rattled the opposition cadre on Wednesday. But this time it is under a tougher law, Nirbhaya Act. Into details, a case is now filed under this against TDP former Minister Chintakayala Ayyanna Pathrudu in Narsipatnam in Visakhapatnam district.
However, what turned to everyone’s shock is that the case was filed by the local municipal commissioner T. Krishnaveni levelling allegations against the former public representative of misbehaving with her. She also alleged that Ayyanna has unwarranted comments on her while taking part in a protest meeting at the municipal office in the town.
The senior TDP leader is also booking for violating lockdown on May 15 when he along with a few party workers staged a protest near the municipal office. It is during this protest that Ayyana Pratrudu was alleged of passing the abusive comments on woman municipal commissioner Krishnaveni besides even threatening her with dire consequences. Tensions ran high in the city with speculations that the leader might get arrested anytime soon.
