Initially, it was the crane accident, then the unexpected corona shutdown and now in a recent setback, the much-anticipated movie’s release date of Kamal Hassan’s ‘Indian-2’ has been postponed to 2021. This time it was the rift between director Shankar and the production house Lyca.
Sources at Lyra office confirmed that Shankar has shot a letter to the production house asking them to put forth the production plan for the project. It was learnt that though the star director and his team were ready to shoot, the production house wanted to put the project on hold for few more days to coverup the losses amidst the lockdown.
The waiting game seems to continue for few more weeks as Shankar is in complete disagreement with the delay as has already brought down the budget from Rs 400 crores to Rs 220 crore after their first disagreement and wanted to start his next project as soon as possible. Following Shankar’s letter, the new CEO of the production house is likely to meet Shankar in the next couple of days and sort this issue out.
Talking about Indian 2, it features Kamal Haasan, Nedumudi Venu, Rakul Preet Singh, Kajal Aggarwal, Priya Bhavani Shankar, and Bobby Simha in the lead roles.
