It is well known that the elite population of yesteryear was respected in the societies for their philanthropic activities like giving away their lands to make the livelihoods of the poor better. Their deeds were not selfish. However, most of today’s elite groups are politicians and they are looting the lands of people, and more if they are government lands in the name of the ‘Golden Telangana’ dream. They behave like they’ve found a treasury every time they seize a government land. The special targets of the TRS leaders are the ‘Onsite Lands’. Every time a TRS leaders eyes at an onsite land, he most possibly will squeeze thousands of crores of rupees from it through illicit activities. Most of these stories are exclusively covered by Tolivelugu Crime Bureau.
In the name of regularization, the Pink leaders are encroaching lands of all shapes and sizes in every geography. Tolivelugu is striving to address these land issues in the state, starting from the prestigious lands of Lord Rama which genuinely belong to the tribals, to the Podu lands. The crime bureau so far exposed the politicians behind these activities and the middlemen who are running the scenes.
The TRS leaders are acquiring vast lands that actually come into the Onsite category, and backing in crores of rupees. Tolivelugu is exclusively covering the situation from on the ground. Politically reputable ruling party leaders are duplicitously buying freshly assigned lands. The state has 24 lakh acres of assigned land of which only 14 lakh acres are owned by farmers. Meanwhile, more than 3 lakh acres have changed hands in recent times.
What are the Onsite lands? To whom does it belong?
The land allotted by the government for the landless poor to cultivate and build houses is called onsite land. It is not valid to trade these lands for any kind of money, and they can be inherited only through legacy. The P.O.T Act 1977 is very clear about its scope. The majority of those earning their livelihood are Dalits and tribal families.
TRS’ biased attitude towards the onsite lands before 1958
The RIT petition number of the Commonwealth High Court in 2012 was to give permanent rights to the family needs of those who held the onsite lands in AP from 1954 to 1958 in Telangana before 1958. Clear judgment was given on 30526 J / 2012 and 15438 J / 2012. However, the Andhra Pradesh government issued orders in 2018 with GO No. 575. With this, about 2.5 lakh acres of assigned land was converted into degree land, removed from the banned list. Their family can comfortably sell it to anyone. The demand price for the respective lands will be based on the market, however, the Telangana government never issues the GO as of now.
This special act could be of huge advantage to the Dalit and tribal families who have about 2 lakh acres of land. Failure to do so will result in politicians buying and registering illegally at a rate 50 percent lower than the market rate. Hundreds of crores are made by the politicians by buying these lands, either through influence or by use of power.
Rights over assigned lands in other states are as follows
In the neighboring state Karnataka, the decree is granted to the residents after 15 years of assignment. People can obtain a ‘No Objection Certificate’ from the authorities and sell their piece of land after 20 years of being assigned in Tamil Nadu. In the states of Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh, farmers have been given the right to sell at market rates in times of crisis. But in Telangana, Dalits, tribals, and the underprivileged were not given the right to sell the land allotted before 1958. The conspiracy behind not doing so also seems to be blindfolded.
Upcoming Investigation Articles!
In a finger snap, the Telangana government is helping out its politicians attain the onsite lands. To accomplish this, special GOs are also being brought in by the authorities. Whoever is in the leadership position is leaking out the sensitive information and going to any extent to land these onsite properties to the people in their affinity. This is currently turning into a huge scam where thousands of crores of rupees are changing hands every passing year. Attempts were made to plunder millions of acres of land given by previous governments without giving clearance to lands before 1958 at a low price and to benefit the upper class. Sangareddy’s ‘onsite lands’ could be a classic example of everything that was said above.
What is the role of TRS leaders in joint Warangal? How are they planning to buy in Mahabubnagar? With the bulk of the assigned land being found in one place, the Tolivelugu crime bureau is going to put in front of you how so many leaders are going to take hundreds of acres under Benami names and regularize them in the coming days, and who conspired to do so.
In addition, we will see in Part 4 what kind of cases can be filed and what are the penalties for those who illicitly buy the onsite land.
