India, the second worst-hit nation in the world on Monday logged 55,722 new cases while the country’s caseload reached to 7,550,273. According to the official data from the Union Health Ministry, the number of India’s active cases stood at 7,72,055, while the recoveries reached 66,63,608. The recovery rate stood at 88.26% and the mortality rate was 1.52%.
On the other hand, the country registered 579 fatalities taking the total death toll to 114,642. A total of 9,50,83,976 samples were tested for Covid-19 up to 18th October. Of these, 8,59,786 samples were tested yesterday stated ICMR. According to a new study, the antibody levels in the blood of Covid-19 patients drop rapidly during the weeks after their bodies have cleared the virus and symptoms have subsided.

Meanwhile, Another 3,986 cases of coronavirus were added in Andhra Pradesh taking its overall tally to 7.83 lakh on Sunday. The total recoveries now increased to 7.40 lakh after 4,591 got cured in 24 hours, the latest bulletin said. The total toll in the state was 6,429 with 23 new fatalities.
Telangana, on the other hand, has reported 948 fresh coronavirus positive cases as per the health update released on Monday, totalling the tally to 2,23,059. While the death toll went up to 1,275 with four persons dying of the deadly virus in the last 24 hours.
