The film industry has been one of the industries which were badly hit by the lockdown with shooting coming to a halt and theatres shut. However, with the central government easing the restrictions the market slowly opened up for the distributors and theatre owners as all the big-budgeted films hit back to the sets.
While the industry is ramping up recovering the losses, G.O No 35 came as a bombshell as the theatres were restricted with price and show timings. It is learned that some of the exhibitors gave up and informed the distributors that they are ready to run theatres with the restricted ticket prices. Further, sources confirmed that a few even shut down the theatres.
On this note, film analysts opined that the theatres in the state would see gloom and in turn forced to shut down.
