Hinting over serious consequences, India’s largest cinema screen, V Epiq has announced that they have shut down the screenings due to the low ticket prices. Announcing the same, the multiplex administration stated that the imposed G.O has made it difficult for them to recover the maintenance. The management felt that they would lose a big amount if they continue to screen films at these minimal ticket prices.
While the industry is ramping up recovering the losses, G.O No 35 came as a bombshell as the theatres were restricted with price and show timings. It is learned that some of the exhibitors gave up and informed the distributors that they are ready to run theatres with the restricted ticket prices. Further, sources confirmed that a few even shut down the theatres.
