Despite being one of the best serving hospitals in the country during the Corona pandemic, seems like Hyderabad Gandhi Hospital ran out of help with situations gripping out of hands in Telangana, Hyderabad in specific. In the wake of hospital authorities’ recent decision to ramp up the number of beds by 350 from the existing 1,500, ground reports revealed a shocking fact that the hospital reached full capacity.
It is to the known knowledge that the state has been recording not less than 100 cases every day with 200 on Saturday. Despite the severe crunch in medical staff, the hospital, for now, is reportedly treating 1,455 corona patients including 805 new admissions. Piling up adverse situations, the corona graph didn’t seem to slope down anytime soon which has now become a main concern for the hospital authorities.
“Most of the beds are occupied. We are looking into converting the two floors of the library block and another two of the OP Block in the hospital into treatment wards,” said Superintendent Professor Rajarao. Meanwhile, installation of oxygen support facilities has become a challenge for the hospital authorities with increasing patients who need ICU attention. On the other hand, the surge in positive cases among the medico turned into a new concern which was taken to the High Court’s notice as well.
