After the high voltage campaigning and most-awaited elections, the spotlight is now on the results of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections as the election commission is into counting the votes from Friday morning.
While the officials first counted the ballot votes cast by the employees, political circles are now all eyes on the ballots votes given by the ‘Greater’ citizen. By the time of reporting, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is leading in 88 seats, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) in 32 while AIMIM in 17 seats, according to the initial trends.
The Telangana State Election Commission (SEC) has set up counting centres at 30 places in the city amid tight security arrangements for the process. The results will be declared tonight which will determine the fortune of almost 1,122 candidates.
