Weeks after meeting the Chief Minister, Tollywood bigwigs were again spotted at the Telangana CMO. Actors Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna accompanied by Film Chamber President and General secretaries Narayan Das Narang, K L Damodar Prasad, Producers’ Council President C Kalyan met with the CM KCR in Pragathi Bhavan.
The meeting assumed significance with GHMC local body elections right around the corner. Though it was touted to be a meet to discuss the Telangana government supporting the film industry in these tough times, the spotlight fell on the correlation between the polls and KCR government trying to please the industry heads.
Political circles are now rife with speculations that KCR and team are all set to bank the existing crisis in the industry for the upcoming GHMC polls. As a part of which, the state government on Friday was learnt to shower soaps and promises to the industry.
Besides concessions and exemptions, KCR was learnt to stress on the need for industry head work hand-in-hand with the state government which set off fresh speculations ahead of local polls.
Further, KTR giving a slew of interviews to entertainment channels drew the attention while the anchor Suma was seen showering lauds on the minister. Social media flooded with posts criticising the star anchor for discursively supporting a political party.
It was such a pleasure talking to you @KTRTRS , I am the one talking blah blah generally in my shows, but your leadership makes it worth listening . Declaring, commitment and delivering is your way of being. Superb pic.twitter.com/qf5XCpSfaY

Government roping in film stars for election campaigning is no new strategy in India. BJP, TRS and YSRCP parties have taken the help of filmmakers, heroes and actresses for the campaigning which actually turned out to be a brilliant strategy.
