Corona Crisis has indeed unleashed the humanitarian angle in Tollywood while many of the artists and technicians rose to the cause. Not only this, but celebrities also took to the social media appreciating the relentless contribution of frontline workers like doctors and sanitation workers.
Tollywood filmmaker Sekhar Kammula has been one of them extending support to the daily wagers, labourers and sanitisation workers right from the time lockdown was called by the Prime Minister. Days after helping out the unemployed hijra and transgender community of Hyderabad with groceries, the ‘Godavari’ director ramped up providing refreshments to GHMC sanitation workers. As a token of gratitude, the sanitation workers at Gandhi hospital gave back the director a priceless gesture on Wednesday.
The GHMC workers at Gandhi Hospital formed a group near the premises and displayed placards which read “Thank You Sekhar Kammula Garu.” Overwhelmed with the priceless gesture, Sekhar took to his social media accounts to share his happiness.
This is a priceless guesture from the GHMC sanitation workers at Gandhi Hospital ……my biggest award.
I feel extremely happy that I could do something that touched you but it's nothing compared to what you do for us, day in and day out. pic.twitter.com/EkYAz8Wbnf
