The accusation levelled by senior TDP leader Ayyanna Patrudu against YSRCP Labour Minister Gummanuru Jayaram’s son Eshwar racked up buzz in state political circles, of late.
According to the allegation, Eshwar who is quite active in district-level party activities has accepted Rs 1.5 crores worth Mercedes Benz car as a birthday gift from a person named Telakapalli Karthik who has been accused in the ESI scam.
Sharing documents and pictures of Eshwar with the car in support for, Ayyana Patrudu has demanded the AP government to dismiss Jayaram and demanded a judicial inquiry into the matter. Ayyanna also informed that he has called the toll free number ‘14400’ and complained about the involvement of minister Jayaram in the ESI scam.
TDP general secretary Nara Lokesh, as well, took to his official social media handles to snub senior leader Atchannaidu’s connections with ESI Scam.

Meanwhile, Gummanur Jayaram refuted TDP leaders’ allegations as ‘sense remarks’ and challenged that he would resign from his post if the car was registered in the name of his son. “My son has lakhs of fans across the State and they will take gifts through his hands. Except posing for a photograph, my son is in no way connected to the said Benz car,” he added.
Speaking to media persons in Aluru of Kurnool district, Jayaram further asked why the TDP leaders were not responding to the allegations of corruption that took place during the previous regime.
It can be recalled Andhra Pradesh Vigilance and Enforcement Department took up the ESI scam investigation in February this year and primary investigations revealed misappropriation of Rs 150 crore.
