For the first time in the history of the state, Jagan-led government on Thursday resolved to provide jobs to the family members of rape and murder victims from the scheduled caste and scheduled tribe (SC & ST) communities.
Besides which, Chief Minister also instructed his officials to provide financial assistance to victims of harassment along with and land.
The decision was taken in the high-level SC and ST vigilance and monitoring committee on Thursday, while the designated officials are instructed to acquire the necessary land and conduct a speedy inquiry into the pending cases of atrocities against SC and ST communities.
Reddy instructed the in-charge ministers to review the implementation of Prevention of SC and ST Atrocities Act in the districts every three months, involving senior officials and other stakeholders.
