Nine months of Jagan-led governance has welcomed criticism a number of times, while G.O. 2430 is one amongst the most discussed. In the line of this G.O, secretaries of various Government Departments were given powers to file complaints and defamation cases against media organisations which published false, baseless and defamatory information. However, seems like the G.O. laid applicable only for certain media houses which have been voicing against the government.
In a recent revelation, TDP leaders lodged a complaint against CM Jagan owned ‘Sakshi’ media over intentionally twisting the news relating to IT Raids on Chandrababu Naidu’s Former Personal Secretary. A complaint was loaded at Editors Guild and Press Council of India by one of the TDP leaders Yanamala Ramakrishnudu. Referring to the articles published in Sakshi on February 14th, TDP filed a written complaint stating that the ruling government is unnecessarily mudslinging the TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu using the media they own.
This is the second time that TDP has reacted to the news published in Sakshi. Previously, General Secretary Nara Lokesh filed a 500 Crore defamation suit on Sakshi media over a defaming story on him. According to the G.O issued by the government, false and baseless articles can be sued. According to which, Jagan-owned media house might soon taste their own medicine over the defamatory articles.
