The meeting going to be held between the RTC authorities of the Telugu states on Monday turned crucial with reports that Andhra and Telangana transport corporations cracked the deal to resume the services.
Calling it an end to months of RTC inter-state gridlock between the Telugu states, it was learnt that an agreement is likely to be reached after another meeting in Hyderabad and the authorities would resume the inter-state services in the next 48 hours.
Sources confirmed that the APSTRC authorities have agreed to all the conditions laid down by Telangana owing to the demand in the festive season. APSRTC MD and vice-chairman MT Krishna Babu was learnt to come down a few more steps as the TSRTC officials continued to stick adamantly to their conditions.
APSRTC has reportedly agreed to compromise upon nearly 1.6 lakh kilometres despite the losses it would incur owing to the difficulties faced by the commuters with private travel agencies looting their best.
AP buses are plying 2.64 lakh km in Telangana while Telangana buses are plying 1.61 lakh km in AP, which was reportedly raised as the main objection by the TSRTC right from the beginning.
