What will anyone do if they get a bad haircut..? They will either express their discontent with the salon organizers or give a bad review for the salon services online. However, a woman who got a very bad haircut got a compensation of Rs 2 crores.
Into details, the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission has awarded Rs 2 crore compensation to a woman for a wrong haircut and treatment given to her by staff at a salon in Hotel ITC Maurya in 2018. The woman who is a model by profession visited the salon at Hotel ITC Maurya for a haircut as she had an upcoming interview at the time.
The complainant was reportedly shocked to observe that despite her specific instructions for long flicks/layers covering her face in the front and at back, the hairstylist had “chopped of her entire hair leaving only 4-inch from the top touching the shoulder.
Despite the salon offered her free hair treatment to correct their mistake, the complainant approached the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission stated that she had “undergone severe mental breakdown and self-esteem and that she was forced to cancel her modelings assignments and a movie role.
The respondents in the case, on the other hand, had submitted that the “compensation claimed by the complainant is ex-facie exaggerated and without any basis”.
