While the wait for corona vaccine continues, Coronavirus in India started taking the frightful form with almost half lakh positive cases registered across the country. According to the latest update from the Union Health Ministry, the total confirmed COVID-19 cases in India have risen to 12,87,945 with the 49,310 new cases.
This has been the highest single-day spike so far while India which now stands as the third most affected county reported 740 deaths in the last 24 hours. The total death toll crossed the 30,000 cases-mark and Maharastra, Tamil Nadu and Delhi continued to register a maximum number of cases.
Data from the health officials confirmed that a total of 4,40,135 people are being treated for corona across the country while were 8,17,209 cured/discharged/migrated. India’s recovery rate continues to rise and now stands at 63.5 per cent.
Globally, there have been over 1.53 crore confirmed cases of COVID-19. More than 6.28 lakh people have died so far.
Meanwhile, situations in Telugu states, especially in Andhra Pradesh, seems to grip out of hands as the state registered as many as 7, 998 new cases on Thursday. AP also recorded 61 new casualties taking the death toll to 884.
Telangana on the other hand, registered 1,567 new positive cases while the state authorities confirmed Stage-3 Community Transmission in the state.
