It wasn’t a usual day for Chandrashekar who works as a loco pilot for South Central Railways. After a close shave with death, Chandrashekar had to fight it out for gruelling eight hours to get out of the mangled loco. Nevertheless, it was a happy ending for loco Pilot Chandrashekar as the NDRF team brought him out.
A silly signaling error resulted in a freak mishap at Kachiguda railway station in Hyderabad, today morning. Falaknuma-Hyderabad MMTS, rammed into Handrineeva Express which was at halt at Kachiguda Railway Station on Monday. Due to the signalling error, both trains came onto the same track and the MMTS hit Handriniva Express at the rear-end. More than 30 passengers were injured and were immediately rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment. But Loco Pilot Chandrashekar was stuck inside the engine cabin. The NDRF team was rushed into action and had to use heavy equipment to cut open the cabin and bring out Chandrashekar. Everyone heaved a sigh of relief seeing an injured Chandrashekar being rescued at last. Everyone appreciated the efforts of the NDRF team who worked nonstop to ensure the rescue operation was successful.
