Tensions ran high in Haryana on Monday with the state chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar coming out that he has tested positive for Covid-19. Requesting all his colleagues and associates who came into his contact to isolate and get tested, the 66-year-old politician stated that he had already been in self-quarantine at his residence in Chandigarh for the past three days.
I was tested for Novel Corona Virus today. My test report has returned positive.
I appeal to all colleagues and associates who came in my contact over the last week to get themselves tested. I request my close contacts to move into strict quarantine immediately.

This revelation came hours after Vidhan Sabha Speaker Gian Chand Gupta tested positive for coronavirus. Further raising tensions, two other BJP MLAs revealed that they are in Corona clutches while the monsoon session is set to begin in Haryana.
All the MLAs, Vidhan Sabha staff, IAS and IPS officers besides the security staff deployed during the Vidhan Sabha Session proceedings have to undergo a mandatory Covid-19 test before the Vidhan Sabha proceedings. Till Monday, out of 361 Vidhan Sabha staff who were tested for Covid-19, six had tested positive.
Besides, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa, Union ministers Amit Shah, Shripad Naik, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Arjun Ram Meghwal, Kailash Chaudhary were also infected with the virus.
