Despite the repeated High Court appeals to both Telangana government and employee unions end the indefinite strike, the agitations in the state reached to 40th day on Wednesday. Though the court made it clear that it cannot direct the State government to hold negotiations with the striking employees of TSRTC, seems like it decided to end the chaos in state at any cost. The Telangana High Court has proposed to constitute a committee to end the deadlock between the RTC employee unions and the T-government. The three-member committee with retired judges from the Supreme Court will participate in the arbitration proceedings and take considerations from employee unions, government and RTC management. The High Court made this order under Section 10A of Industrial Disputes Act, 1947, and stated this to be the last possible thing they can do to end the strike. While the JAC Convenor E Aashwathma Reddy welcomed the court’s proposal, the employees banked their hopes on the committee.
