Crime Bureau, Toli Velugu: The dream of having a separate Telangana State was realized on three pivotal points namely ‘Neellu, Nidhulu and Niyaamakaalu’ (water, funds and jobs).
Ever since the formation of the state, somehow…the issue of getting jobs for the unemployed has always had its teething troubles. The latest being the sensational TSPSC paper leakage issue. As the investigation is going on, newer issues are seeing the light of the day. Initially on 11th March 2023, there were reports saying that the TSPSC’s systems got hacked. Immediately an enquiry was in place based on which, it was concluded that by falling prey to a honey trap, papers got leaked. As a follow up action, a notification has been issued stating that three examinations in Town Planning Building Overseas were postponed. However, in the investigations conducted by the Police department, it was identified that even the question paper for the AE exam, which was conducted on 5th March 2023 also got leaked. The services of Praveen Kumar, PA to the Secretary, TSPSC and also another person by name Rajasekhar were terminated with immediate effect.
With all these swift developments, again the fate of filling up of 833 Assistant Engineering, Technical Officers and Junior Technical Officers posts has become a question mark as the proverbial ‘back to square one!’
In 2017, Praveen and Rajasekhar joined TSPSC as Network Experts. They have kept the data in a pen drive. The data was shared with one person by name Renuka for a consideration of Rs.5 lakhs and also to another person by name Dakya Naik for a consideration of another 5 lakhs of rupees. The data was sold to Neels Naik and Gopal Naik by collaborating with Rajeswar Naik and Kethavath Srinu who are preparing for the AE examination, for a consideration of Rs.13 lakhs. Though both Praveen and Rajasekhar took care of the entire transactions, somehow differences cropped up on the sharing of the money leading to making a call to ‘Dial 100’ and disclosing all the details. Based on that evidence a total of 9 persons were arrested. By then, it was found out that even Veterinary Assistant Surgeon papers were also got leaked. Thus the leakage issue of TSPSC’s Group 1 examinations has come in to light!
What was deleted from the phones?
Thousands of students demonstrated at the office of the TSPSC demanding for the suspension of the Secretary and also demanding for an enquiry to be conducted by the CBI. They have also alleged that even Group 1 paper might have also been leaked. There is a talk that Group 1 papers are also available in Praveen’s phone and if so – whether these papers were already there before the examination or after the examination. The correct information would be coming out only after the enquiry by the concerned authorities on this issue. Now, this entire episode has left those aspirants, who are preparing for the mains in utter confusion and despair. They are very much worried and questioning the authorities about their future and wondering by when they could get jobs, in these testing times and situations.
So many leaks…and no qualitative change in the state of affairs!
No sooner the new state of Telangana came in to existence, the EAMCET paper leakage case is the first issue which has to be tackled. It was alleged that students were shifted to other states and were trained on the leaked papers and are brought back. At that time, Narayana and Sri Chaithanya colleges were blamed and accused. At a later stage, on enquiry by the CID special team, it was identified that this type of scams are happening across the nation. Even after so many twists, this case is yet to be closed. Though the charge sheet was filed…with the suicide of the main accused the enquiry is still on in the honorable court. The Police department recruitment was in for troubles with the reservation and height issues and in Singareni recruitments, there was paper leak issue…thus mostly the unemployed could get jobs only ranging from positions at Model Schools as Principals to Mandal Statistics Officers – only on honorable court’s intervention in most of the departments. As such, lot of criticism is being felt.
Government is serious about this issue!
The Telangana Government is very serious on this issue and directed the TSPSC’s top officials to give explanation. With this background, under the chairmanship of Janardhan Reddy, Chairman, TSPSC a meeting was called for. There is a statement from Additional CP, Vikram Singh stating that there was no complaint on the leaks in TSPSC’s Group 1 Prelims examination. Adding that the investigation is being conducted taking in to account all the related issues. Vikram Singh also disclosed that along with Praveen, 9 more persons were taken in to custody.
