Even as incessant rains from the past two days across Telangana brought the normal life to still, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) Hyderabad on Tuesday issued a red warning to five districts in the state.
People living in Adilabad, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagtial, and Karimnagar districts are alerted by the respective authorities to stay home with IMD forecasting heavy to very heavy and extremely heavy rain till Wednesday.
A yellow warning has been issued to Rajanna Sirisilla, Mancherial, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Komarambheem Asifabad, Peddapalle, Warangal(Urban), Warangal(Rural), Mahabubabad, Kamareddy districts with very heavy rain forecasted. The formation of low pressure over the Bay of Bengal could trigger heavy rains in the two Telugu states.
Roads in certain low-lying areas were inundated with rainwater. Canals in the city were overflowing bringing the traffic to gridlock. As of Monday, two people were killed and four have gone missing in separate rain-related incidents as per reports.
