While the surface trough continues at an altitude of 3.1 km in the southern coastal areas, India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday issue high alerts for districts in Telangana and coastal Andhra Pradesh forecasting widespread rains with isolated heavy to very heavy rains.
The IMD has forecasted that the depression in the Bay of Bengal would turn into a cyclone in next 24 hours and cross the coast between northern and southern Odisha on October 11th. Widespread rainfall, with isolated heavy to very heavy falls, over Coastal Andhra Pradesh on Saturday and Sunday while the officials are prepping up to issue an orange alert in the coastal areas.
Fishers are advised not to venture into the Sea across the west-central Bay of Bengal till Monday with winds up to 45-55 km per hour along the coast. The state disaster department has already deployed special teams to check the emergency.
