In a relief to the former labour minister and Tekkali MLA Atchannaidu who is judicial remand in connection with the sensational ESI scam was released on bail on Friday. Granting bail to the senior TDP leader, High Court instructed that Atchannaidu cannot travel abroad without permission or he should not contact witnesses.
It can be noted that the former minister contracted coronavirus while undergoing treatment and was shifted to NRI Hospital for better treatment.
In the wake of Jagan-led Andhra Pradesh government probing an enquiry over the irregularities during TDP regime, vigilance and Enforcement Directorate are learnt to be digging in the collecting the details. Reportedly, ACB has claimed over Rs 100 crores scam of faking the bills regarding the purchase of ESI drugs.
The official also accused that the TDP leader bought medicines for Rs 698 Crores against the allocated budget of Rs 294 Crores who was taken into custody on July 12th. However, the Anti-Corruption Bureau has failed to submit enough evidence against Atchannaidu of having received any money in the ESI scam.
