Chalo Atmakur which was supposed to be a peaceful protest rally is now becoming a political show of strength. With more and more cops being pressed into house arresting TDP leaders, tension in the region are escalating.
The morning of 11th September 2019 has seen a lot of tensed moments in and around the residence of the former Chief Minister of AP, Nara Chandrababu Naidu’s residence at Undavalli. It is a known fact that earlier Naidu had called for a rally to protest against the alleged atrocities of the ruling YSR Congress Party on TDP followers across AP.
In order to prevent untoward incidents in the region, police forces have been deployed in and around the residences of the TDP leaders and other supporters of the rally, ‘Chalo Atmakuru’. As part of the same, the residence of Naidu was also under the seize of the police who have placed him under house arrest. The cops have not let the vehicle with Naidu leave the house, by tying a rope across the main gates of the house. Naidu had to retreat back into the house, with no other option.
However, Naidu stated that he continue fighting for justice and support the rally – ‘Chalo Atmakuru’, whole heartedly. He said, ‘all the supporters at the Palnadu Rehabilitation Camp shall carry on until the culprits are brought to justice. I shall go to Palnadu, as soon as the police allow me to.’
While condemning the unauthorized arrests that have been taking place around Guntur and Vijayawada, he urged his part fellow-men to maintain peace and act patiently in taking out the rally.
