Uproar to take stringent action against gas leakage accident at LG polymers, Visakhapatnam which claimed 12 lives including an innocent 6-year-old kept growing with people from various walks seeking closure of the company for criminal negligence.
Tensions ran high on Saturday with hundreds of locals, trade Union leaders, former public representatives, and activists reached to the plant at RR Venkatapuram raising slogans against the company authorities and state government. A large number of people staged a dharna with three bodies of the victims. Speaking to the media, the locals accused the AP Pollution Control Board of lobbying with the LG authorities while 12 people paid for the negligence.
Reportedly, the bodies of the 12 gas-leak victims were handed over to respective families after the post-mortem while they reached to the plant with the bodies in front of the main gate of the company. With tens of police reaching to the place, tensions prevailed while a few of the protestors who refused to refrain were detained.
