Tensions ran high at the residence of Telangana Home Minister Mahmoud Ali on Thursday with the Congress student leaders gate crashing condemning the government’s inaction over the attacks on women in the state.
Hundreds of student leaders who called for an unannounced rally barged into the reached to the minister’s residence raising slogans against the KCR-led Telangana government.
ICC secretary Sampath, members of NSUI and Youth Congress leaders were spotted at the residence taking part in the dharna.
On this note, social media flooded with post demanding women commission in Telangana in the wake of increasing attacks and rapes on women. Many Congress leaders and netizens took to #TSNeedsWomenCommission urging women commission to respond.

It can be noted that the Telangana registered two shocking rape cases in a span of 1 week raising concerns over the women security in the state. While a 13-year-old Khammam girl was set on fire allegedly by her employer who tried to rape her and after she resisted, Madhu Yadav, a local TRS leader stood as the accused of rape and abetment to suicide of a domestic worker in Moinabad.
