As America is ramping up towards normalcy 78-year old Joseph R. Biden a.k.a Joe Biden on Wednesday took oath as the 46th President of the United States. Chief Justice John Roberts administered the oath of office to Biden on well-restrained steps of Capitol.
The Presidential inauguration was preceded by administering of oath to 56-year-old Kamala Harris who created history as first coloured and first Asian American Vice President. Almost immediately after taking the oath of office, Biden, on stepping into a White House reluctantly vacated in the morning.
On his day one, US President Joe Biden has signed 15 executive orders undoing the key foreign policies and national security decisions of Donal Trump. “No time to waste in issuing the executive orders, memorandums and directives,” is what the new President said as he signed the orders in front of reporters in the Oval Office.
Document to begin the process of re-entering the Paris climate accord and issued a sweeping order tackling climate change, the emergency declaration that helped fund the construction of the Mexico border wall and travel ban on some majority-Muslim countries are the crucial orders singed today.
