Chittoor: Inspite of providing relaxation and amusement, tourist destinations in Andhra Pradesh have now become a den for anti-social activities. A recent incident in Horsley hills, Chittor brought a serious concern to the State government questioning the safety provided to tourists in remote natural destinations.
Into the story, a young couple who visited Horsley Hills Gangotri, a famous tourist destination in Chittoor district faced a horrifying experience. The couple decided to stay in the AP Tourism Hill resort, accommodation arranged by the state government. Forest officers who observed this have attacked the couple and looted them. Forcing them to hand over the cash and gold, the officers tried to rape the girl. With the help of a few local youths, the couple approached the forest authorities to file a complaint. The officers registered the complaint and are now ‘searching’ for officers Badri and Manohar as guilty. The girl is reportedly from Kadiri, Anantapur district while the boy is the resident of Madhanapalle, Chittoor district.
