Tagged as the ‘last film’ of the late young actor Sushant Singh Rajput, ‘Dil Bechara’ which hit the OTT platform Hotstar on Friday has been breaking all new records. Fans and actors of Indian cinema poured out their heart on social media while the movie is now the top-rated with over 22,000 votes.
Within minutes of the release, the film’s IMDb rating climbed to 10 leaving behind Kamal Haasan and R Madhavan’s 2003 Tamil film ‘Anbe Sivam’. Hotstar website was also seen crashed as crores of viewers across the world watched the film at the same time.
Even the premium members Hotstar have faced buffering issues. Paying homage to the talented actor, the streaming platform has put the film available both for subscribers and non-subscribers.
1 hour, 41 minutes and 30 seconds which was an adoption of John Green’s popular novel ‘The Fault In Our Stars’ which was made into a movie in Hollywood with the same name. The film also marks the debut of director Mukesh Chabbra and female lead Sanjana Sanghi.
The fact that the fans are watching him acting and dancing(which Sushant is extremely good at) for one last time is leaving the fans with an unexplainable mix of pain and happiness. AR Rahman’s music acted as a soul carrying the feel in the movie while songs like ‘Taare Ginn’ and ‘Main Tumhara’ will no doubt leave the audience in feels.
It is to the known knowledge that Sushant Singh Rajput left the Indian film industry in shock with his suicide on June 14th. The 34-year-old actor was found hanging in his house in Bandra, Mumbai.
