The Commercial Taxes Department has constituted a special team of officials to examine the records of Sushi Infra and its subsidiaries. Former MLA Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy’s son Sankeerth Reddy, the MD of Sushi Infra and its subsidiaries, got raided by GST officials.
In this order, the authorities seized a huge amount of documents and other evidence. Officials have already separated them company-wise and pay-wise. A team of officials started the study today afternoon in the office of the Commissioner of Commercial Taxes Department in Abids.
Officials estimate that Sushi Infra and its affiliated companies may be involved in GST evasion worth hundreds of crores. In this order, the officials are engaged in the work of settling their calculations. The officials have sent the computers, hard disks, pen drives, and CPUs seized during the inspections to the forensic lab.
Officials say it may take another two days to get the reports, they are expecting to complete the examination of the files in the meantime. To this extent, it seems that the details are being uploaded online from time to time.
The authorities are looking into whether the policies followed by Sushi Infra and its subsidiaries are in compliance with the GST Act or not. This work is being done under the supervision of a team of officers at the level of Joint Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, and Assistant Commissioners who are fully aware of the GST Act. The authorities are keeping the details in this regard very confidential.
