With the election date fast approaching in the poll-bound constituency, Pragathi Bhavan sources are rife with speculations that the TRS high command is in splits over the public meeting in Huzurabad. The high command is now left in confusion with the Election Commission(EC) denying permission for any public meetings above 1,000 people given the COVID restrictions.
While many ground-level activists suggested the high command to go ahead with the public meeting, it was learned that the former is contemplating the decision, as the number of attendees might exceed the 1,000 limit which would violate the protocol. Followed by which, the party is now into finding different ways to campaign.
In yet another master plan, TRS is planning to hold a huge public meeting with KCR’s attendance in Karimnagar or Husnabad or Jammikunta which will not fall under the election code of conduct. As these three areas are also very close to Huzurabad, it is expected that there will be a good response. And if the party supremo KCR didn’t approve this, the party hopes to hold small meetings in different zones on the same day.
The party sources also have it that KCR is more inclined to pay a visit at mandal level rather than holding a huge public meeting. It seems that Huzurabad in-charges have already brought these two alternatives to the attention of KCR. TRS, on the other hand, has already urged the EC to give relief to hold public meetings while no decision has been made yet.
It can be noted that, KCR has already organised the inaugural function of Dalit Bandhu on August 16 in Huzurabad. If the conditions are favorable .. Another meeting is expected to be held on October 30.
