The state government has given good news to the people of Hyderabad. TS RTC is ready to run electric buses on the roads. For this, the state government has signed an agreement to purchase 300 electric buses from Olectra Greentech Limited.
TS RTC is ready to spend about Rs 500 crores for these buses. To this extent, MEIL group company’s Eway Trans Pvt Ltd has received letter of award from TS RTC. To this extent, Olectra Green Tech Limited has received an order from RTC.
TS RTC is going to purchase 300 electric buses under the Fame 2 scheme announced by the central government. For this purpose, these electric buses will be purchased on a gross cost contract basis for 12 years. Olectra has to hand over these buses to TS RTC in the next 20 months. Olectra will also take care of the management of these electric buses.
Speaking on the occasion, KV Pradeep, Chairman and Managing Director of Olectra Greentech Limited said, “We are happy to secure another prestigious order. We are proud to serve the people of Telangana with our state-of-the-art zero-emission buses. Our buses are already serving in Hyderabad for last three years. They are successfully serving the passengers by taking them to the airport. We provide buses as per schedule. We will provide the best travel experience,” he said.

According to KV Pradeep, these buses are 12-metres in length, have low-floor, and are non-AC buses with a seating capacity of 35+D. The Electronically controlled air suspension will provide a comfortable ride for the passengers. These buses have CCTV cameras, USB sockets for every seat and emergency buttons for the safety of passengers. The lithium-ion battery installed in the bus can help it travel up to 180 kilometers on a single charge depending on traffic and passenger load conditions.
